The objective of the Save Boca Ordinance is to protect public land. After it was introduced, the Council added several exemptions to ensure the ordinance would not interfere with the efficient functioning of the City. These exemptions define when the ordinance’s voter approval requirement can be ignored.
We support the ordinance, but we are concerned that the wording of two exemptions could allow “administrative discretion” to bypass the spirit of the ordinance.
