The 2026 Referendum: Know the Long Term Impact

On March 10th, Boca Raton voters will make an irreversible decision about the proposed Government Campus Project. This 99‑year public‑private partnership represents a multigenerational shift in how our city uses its public land. The project envisions seven 10–12‑story residential buildings with more than 900 units, along with commercial and office space, a hotel, and a grocery store. All of this would be built on the land between Memorial Park and the railroad tracks, and between the Library and Palmetto Park Road. The City is asking you to commit Boca Raton to this specific plan for 99 years, even though key elements of the plan are still undecided.

THE RED FLAG

Since announcing the project, the City has presented an overly optimistic narrative that does not reflect many resident concerns. At the same time, developer‑funded OneBoca is saturating the community with promotional content designed to secure approval — effectively attempting to buy the election through misleading messaging. This aggressive sales push urges residents to make an irreversible decision based on inaccurate information and promises that sound too good to be true.

Ask yourself this —

  • If the deal is so good for us, why does the developer have to inundate us with emails and flyers?
  • If the deal is so good for us, why do the flyers show pretty pictures that don’t match the conceptual drawings they submitted?

Consult the legend to see the height of the proposed buildings.

FULL DISCLOSURE

After extensive research, we are recommending that you VOTE NO on Referendum Question 2 on the March 10 ballot.

  • The referendum’s wording implies that a No vote will not protect Memorial Park, but that is incorrect.
  • A No vote preserves time to evaluate alternatives and ensures the City makes the best long‑term decision.

We believe voters should vote No so that the City Council will:

  • Terminate the agreement with Terra‑Frisbie
  • Restart planning after the new council is seated
  • Survey residents to understand their vision for downtown
  • Evaluate both public‑finance and P3 options
  • Fully analyze the monetary, environmental, and social impacts of all options

Memorial Park belongs to all Boca Raton residents. It is the soul of our city and the heart of our neighborhood.

We believe every resident deserves to make their own decision based on complete and accurate information. That is why we created this website.
